Owners who called MGC back

Built for Holiday Mountain Fun Park, twice.

“We started out with a miniature golf course and now, thanks to MGC Developers, we have a whole Family Entertainment Center. The crew at MGC designed and built us an awesome go-kart track with no hassles or surprises. We liked their ideas so much that we asked them to come back and built our state-of-the-art batting cages. Steve helped us with the design and layout and stayed with us right up to opening day. The team at MGC was a pleasure to work with, they shared their ideas and worked well with our own crew and vendors. We highly recommend MGC to anyone and everyone who asks us who built our FEC!”

Batting cages

North Dartmouth, MA

“Steve did a great job on our batting cages. He was up to date on the latest standards and batting cage equipment. I would recommend MGC Developers to anybody looking to build top notch batting cages. If we didn't already have the mini-golf, driving range, etc. we would have asked him to build those too!”

Graded dirt to opening day

How a fun park goes up, stage by stage

Two of these frames are MGC's own drone shots of an elevated go-kart build. The rest show the stage in general: the trades MGC runs on every job.

Graded lot with survey stakes and string lines marking the curve of a future track and a pond

Site

Stakes in graded dirt

Half to three quarters of an acre for 18 holes, about an acre for 1,000ft of track. MGC helps with Site Location and Obtaining Permits before anything is poured.

Wet concrete screeded inside curved timber forms on a wide track turn, a bull float on the slab

Pour

Concrete inside bent forms

Timber forms bent to the turn, gravel base, then concrete screeded smooth. White concrete, not black asphalt, outlasts it and runs cooler under karts.

Elevated multi-level go-kart track on timber pilings with race flags, seen from a drone

Frame

Timber pilings, three decks of track

Pilings carry the ramp and the spiral, and the tire-backed rail runs every level. Multiple levels put a long track on a small footprint.

Rebar and wire-mesh armature half coated in carved concrete rock with a dry waterfall channel

Rockwork

Rebar armature, carved rock face

Steel and mesh first, then concrete carved by hand into ledges, crevices and a waterfall channel. Theming and rockwork are the biggest line in a course budget.

A roll of putting turf half unrolled over a contoured stone base inside a concrete curb

Turf

Putting turf over a stone base

Contoured stone, a poured curb, the cup cut, then top-quality putting turf seamed down. It is the last surface laid before a course opens.

Floodlit night aerial of a curving concrete go-kart track, a lit violet spiral and a blue-roofed pit building

Lights

Floodlights on, infield still dirt

Track poured, spiral lit, karts parked in the pit and the temporary fence still up. Lighting is in every package, so the track earns after dark.
